Happy Halloweeeeeeeen, one of my favorite holidays ever! Extra spooky effect: A very dirty mirror.
This past weekend we hit the trails before hittin’ up the best Prohibition party ever.

Yep, that’s me with Adam Pascal!
Last week was a great one, and to be frank, I just wasn’t in the mood to update the blog at all. Sometimes life is too busy or I’m enjoying my downtime too much. But what does that mean now? Tons of pictures, that’s what. Here’s a photo recap of last week, since it was such a fabulous one.
Our first day in Crested Butte was nice and relaxed as we eased into vacation mode. Our second day was relaxed in a different way: after a small, quick breakfast we headed out to the Lower Loop Trail to go trail running and explore! We ended up logging 10.5 miles. (I also took a thousand photos.) And then, of course, we refueled like professionals. Crested Butte is a foodie’s town!
Happy (late) Tuesday, friends! This past weekend, Nick and I wrapped up the end of another busy week and headed out to Crested Butte, what’s now become Memorial Weekend Tradition.
Instead of three recap installments, I’ve pared things down to two, so get ready for photo overload.
Happy Monday! I am still in a sleepy daze this morning, but I am fully prepared to share a ton of fun photos from this weekend, which include a new book and salt scrub, a sneak peek of Platte River Half race photos, a hard-yet-short speed workout, and a 10-mile Easter Sunday trail run with gorgeous views.
Take a look!
(I’m trying to get caught up with all the excitement this week, so expect lots of blog posts!)
This past Saturday night I flew back to Denver, where Nick and I promptly indulged in Cosmo’s pizza (he loves me!) before passing out at 9pm. Lame, you might say… except for the fuel and energy it lent to our long run Sunday morning!
This past Fourth of July weekend, the man and I went for a 5-mile hike at the beautiful Waterton Canyon.
I had never been before, and he’s been talking about how it’s a beautiful site for a long run… perhaps after my crazy performance schedule is over. He was right!
Check out the scenery.
This Thursday, it had been four days without running and I was itching to get some pavement under my feet, so I hopped onto the trail behind the Parker Arts, Culture & Event Center.
Well we’re finally moving on to the recap of Day 2 of our long weekend in Crested Butte, Colorado! The first day was jam-packed with fun but in a relaxed, go-with-the-flow sort of way. It was a great start to the trip!
Sunday was a lot like Saturday—but on steroids! We had a longer, hillier trail run, following by multiple progressive meals. (I miss it dearly.)
The man and I ventured off early Saturday morning for a Memorial Day weekend getaway in Crested Butte, the most quintessential Colorado mountain town.
On the agenda? Running trails, exploring shops, relaxing, and of course, visiting as many restaurants as possible.
Take a look at the first half of Day 1!
