Happy Total Solar Eclipse Day!

Happy Total Solar Eclipse Day!
As the moon slowly approaches our line of sight of the sun… I’m recapping my weekend, which was full of wine, running, delicious eats, and a mystery gift for Harper.
This weekend was opening and closing of Hello Dolly! Eight weeks culminated in just three performances, but it was such a great experience. The city of Englewood’s summer drama program is a hidden gem in Denver’s theater community.
And since it’s National Mutt Day, I also thought I’d share the tremendous growth Harper’s made this past month, as well as what’s on the horizon for us in the month to come.
And just like that, it’s Wednesday! I thought I’d share some fun Harper the Rescue Pup pics, because she’s probably the most adorable pup ever (that’s my unbiased opinion) and because who doesn’t need a good mid-week pick-me-up?
The purpose of The Real Life was to make sure I don’t get too swept up in the “Pinterest-worthy” photo seduction that is lifestyle blogging. I am not trying to show you guys only the good without the bad and the ugly. So when I looked at my messy living room this morning, I figured you all should see it, too.
Happy Monday! This past weekend was Harper’s four-week checkpoint as our new pup. It has felt like 6 months! We knew adopting an 11-week-old puppy would be tough, and we prepared ourselves pretty well, but we still had no idea what we were getting into.
How was your weekend? Ours was Harper-centric, of course. There is no sleeping in with a 3-month-old pup! We went to puppy school, had tons of play time, and I even snuck in a run. Thank goodness!
Here’s a photo recap (+ a new blog setup for this week!)
This past Saturday we adopted the love of our lives! She is the sweetest and most adorable pup we’ve ever seen… no bias at all. 😉 (She likes to eat grass, as you can see in the photo above.)
It will be a busy several months ahead, but it’s already proving to be worth it and then some. Here are some photos from the last 36 hours or so, including our experience at Lifelife Puppy Rescue in Brighton, Colorado.
Lord help me. You guysssss. I can’t shake my puppy needs lately. I know, in due time, I’ll finally have the cuddly, fuzzy, sweet little puppy ears to kiss and snuggle. And I promise I’m being patient and rational. But… I need a little retriever puppy, like yesterday, so in the meantime I’m taking you all down with me!
Behold the cuteness.
(Okay, so the pup we end up adopting doesn’t need to be a particular breed or color, but at the moment, I’m all about goldens or retrievers in general.)
