Top o’ the morning to ya!
I love breakfast. I’ve said this a million times, and I’ll say it again. I am just completely smitten with a veggie scramble + bread and butter. It’s my favorite thing on the planet.

All the jewel tones!
Yesterday was a busy one! Colorado Homes & Lifestyles hosted its 2017 Home of the Year celebration at The Cooper Lounge at Union Station. After a few days of puppy-disrupted sleep, a long workday, and a schmoozing over cocktails, I was a tad exhausted.
Our first day in Crested Butte was nice and relaxed as we eased into vacation mode. Our second day was relaxed in a different way: after a small, quick breakfast we headed out to the Lower Loop Trail to go trail running and explore! We ended up logging 10.5 miles. (I also took a thousand photos.) And then, of course, we refueled like professionals. Crested Butte is a foodie’s town!
Happy (late) Tuesday, friends! This past weekend, Nick and I wrapped up the end of another busy week and headed out to Crested Butte, what’s now become Memorial Weekend Tradition.
Instead of three recap installments, I’ve pared things down to two, so get ready for photo overload.
Happy Thursday! It’s snow-raining in Denver this morning. It’s May 18. Nothing makes sense. It’s been one of those weeks at work where I’ve got more outings and meetings in 5 days than I usually do in a month, so things have been pretty hustle-and-bustle lately. I wanted to check in with you all and just share a few little things that’ve gone on this week.
Girl is busy this morning, so here are photo recaps of the weekend along with 1-2 sentence descriptions—a quick review.
On the night before surgery and all through the house, I decided to get out of the house and tag along to dinner with my editor and her husband at Annette, a “scratch to table” restaurant out in the Stanley Marketplace.
The design is fresh, the service was outstanding, and the food was on point. Take a look.
I’m back! I took a few days off of blogging because I do this for fun, but I’d felt a bit overwhelmed this past week. I was stressed and feeling anxiety about my LEEP procedure on Friday, but turns out, it was a piece of cake (followed by real post-surgery sugaryness).
Here are my thoughts on the experience and a photo recap of the weekend.
You guys. If you have a long commute or like to listening to podcasts while working out, you have GOT to listen to S*Town. The first 10 minutes will have you addicted. I promise. It’s from This American Life, the same people who brought you Serial (a podcast I also highly recommend). So good! It’s been making my morning get-ready routine far more interesting.
Also: yesterday I ran 6 miles in the middle of the workday so that I could have a couple margaritas at my work-wife Happy Hour. Priorities!
I can’t believe I met the man a year ago! We’ve had such a great time together these past 12 months, running, laughing, and savoring delicious food (and life) together. We decided to go back to Barolo Grill, where we celebrated 6 months back in August.
We had no idea that this visit would surpass our expectations in every way. Literally everything was outstanding.
Take a look (but not if you’re hungry!)
