I’m the worst and haven’t found the time or energy to post simple updates on this blog since we got back from Swarthmore. Forgive me!
Instead of writing a full-fledged recap, I’m just going to post all the photos along with 1-2 sentences about each one. Enjoy!
Nick and I used a Hapa gift card to continue the night-before-Christmas-travel sushi dinner tradition.
The morning of our flight, we squeezed in a 10-mile run at Wash Park!
We ran into our friends Blair and Aaron at the airport!
Coffee at DIA before takeoff. 10-mile runs make you sleepy, apparently.
Decorating the tree at Nick’s mom’s house!
Barbara’s cozy carriage house set up.
Kicking off the festivities with all the cheese in America.
Run #1 in the Swarthmore cold.
Temps were frigid!
Run #2, after breakfast a day or two later. It hurt, but it’s better than nothing!
Headed into Philadelphia with Barbara to see a show!
This interpretation of Peter Pan was so cool, set at a camping ground, with a small ensemble playing multiple characters. The girl who played Smee stole the show!
Afterward, we went to the famous Victor Cafe for drinks, delicious food, and beautiful classical singing.
The upstairs lounge is something else!
We spent a few days at Nick’s dad’s house in Media along with his sister Ava! Oh, and my secret doggo lover, Rangey. (Don’t tell Harps.)
Lazy boy.
Nick being a good big brother.
Playing with toys at the table!
Took a train and then a bus into the Big Apple to spend a day with Ava! She works at the fanciest law office I’ve ever seen. Straight out of a movie. I felt inappropriate trying to steal this photo of the view…
While Ava finished up her work day, Nick and I visited his friends who also live in the city. We took their adorable little girl to the public library to play. I call this photo, “Adult Conversations.”
I don’t have any photos of the AMAZING dinner Ava took us to that night, but I did snap this one of our recovery bagel breakfast the next morning. (Wine and good times.)
We didn’t leave before I requested more family photos to sift through! I love this one of Nick and Ava in the garden. Sweet haircuts, guys. 🙂
It was hard for Rangey to see us go. Til next time, bud!
Phew! Just one more photo to conclude 2017 on The Real Life:
We ran 13.1 miles at Green Mountain on New Year’s Eve, in 15-degree weather. Ouch! But at least I’ve stayed on top of my 33k training. More about that later, hopefully!
