This weekend was opening and closing of Hello Dolly! Eight weeks culminated in just three performances, but it was such a great experience. The city of Englewood’s summer drama program is a hidden gem in Denver’s theater community.
And since it’s National Mutt Day, I also thought I’d share the tremendous growth Harper’s made this past month, as well as what’s on the horizon for us in the month to come.
Note: Often I feel like a dual personality—one day entirely jazzed about an Outfits of the Week post, the next day disgusted by its flippancy and longing to, instead, break my heart open in an essay like the one to follow. I feel confused about how to resolve these two seemingly conflicted brains. But they are both me, and I haven’t written something like this in a while, so here it is.
And just like that, it’s Wednesday! I thought I’d share some fun Harper the Rescue Pup pics, because she’s probably the most adorable pup ever (that’s my unbiased opinion) and because who doesn’t need a good mid-week pick-me-up?
Happy Monday? The last two days were good, considering The Man is out of town, I’m in tech week for Dolly, and I’ve got the pup all to myself to care for. I can’t say that I’ve been eating well or staying on top of my running this pas week, but at least I’m relatively a normal human being at this point. 🙂
Happy Friday, everyone! Another week is coming to a close, which means another installment of Outfits of the Week… although, if it were up to me, I’d have worn yoga pants and sports tops all week (and I did, to rehearsals) because I am le tired.
This next week is going to be a doozy: Nick will be in Moab for a guys’ trip, I’ll be working and taking care of the pup, and it’s tech week for my show. I’m going to need a lot of mental and physical stamina, and a lot of support from you!
It’s hard to believe that one year ago I was in the opening week of Grease. This was also the week I fainted while running and scuffed up the right side of my face and body! I was running on empty: not eating enough (you can tell in my arm above… girl looks sickly) and not taking enough rest. Whoops!
The purpose of The Real Life was to make sure I don’t get too swept up in the “Pinterest-worthy” photo seduction that is lifestyle blogging. I am not trying to show you guys only the good without the bad and the ugly. So when I looked at my messy living room this morning, I figured you all should see it, too.
