Outfits (and Workouts) of the Week!

TGIF

Happy Friday, friends! Although it feels like this week put me through the ringer… I feel like it exhausted me in the best way.

It was a great week at work, I got three solid runs in before my weekend workouts, and I had my first voice lesson in a long time!

Take a look…

MONDAY, April 10, 2017

Still a little exhausted from the race on Sunday, my Monday morning was a little hazy. With a lot to get done at work (and with a lot of incentive to stay on the couch and read for longer than normal that morning), I decided to go super casual and skip the hair-curling.

  • blue skinny jeans, Gap
  • brown booties, DSW

That evening consisted of no running, since it was a post-race off day. Instead we made the best quesadillas ever and hung out at home (… in bed watching TV, one of my favorite pastimes).

TUESDAY, April 11, 2017

In stark contrast to Monday’s jeans-and-T-shirt look, I got fancied up on Tuesday for Colorado Homes & Lifestyles magazine’s Circle of Excellence awards luncheon at Coohills Denver. (This is where I ate steak and wine for lunch.)

That night I got my new MAHI Leather bag, with which I did a fashion show before running fartleks at the park. I ran six 30-second all-out sprints, with some easy running in between, totaling 4.5 miles. It was nice to start playing with speed work again.

WEDNESDAY, April 12, 2017

It’s been quite hot all week here in Denver, so on Wednesday morning, I opted for a dress again. I love this T-shirt dress because it’s comfortable and keeps me cool.

  • black Franco Sarto flats, DSW (more pics of them here)
  • black and white necklace, Walmart

I got my easy recovery run in during the workday, around 2:30 pm or so. I didn’t realize how hot it was going to be, especially running those work-neighborhood hills! But I got it done.

Getting my run in during the day made the transition from the office to my voice lesson much easier. I had enough time to go home, take a quick shower, change, and head out. I knew I wouldn’t have enough time to run and cool down right after work, and this was everything was much less hectic (and I didn’t sacrifice my workout).

I just have to say that my voice lesson was AMAZING. I wanted to write about it on Thursday, but I was a little too busy with life (AKA tired). The lesson went so well, and I realized my voice is in much better shape than I thought. I’m very excited about what’s in store for my singing in the next few months. Stay tuned!

THURSDAY, April 13, 2017

Thursday morning I got up earlier and headed into work about 45 minutes ahead of schedule, to get some serious work done before our Feng Shui lesson on the rooftop deck of Room & Board in Cherry Creek. This is our second of four sessions we’re doing, in collaboration with Feng Shui for the Om. We’re learning about how the design around us can affect our success and manifestations. Pretty woo-woo for the average bear, but I’m into it (or at least going to experiment with it!). It can be fun, as long as you don’t spend too much money on the concepts. (Perhaps I’ll write a post about my adventures in Feng Shui at some point, if things go well.)

  • pink crop top, Forever 21
  • same blue skinny jeans from Monday (what?), Gap
  • Nine West wedges, hand-me-downs
  • brass bracelet, family heirloom
  • long gold necklace, Forever 21

Thursday night, the best running coach of all coaches (Nick, duh) tried to get me to do a 2-mile tempo run with a 1-mile warmup and 1.5-mile cool down. Instead, I wanted to push pace the whole time because I’m an amateur and don’t quite have a handle on controlling my pace (particularly trying to slow down or stay somewhere in the middle, like a 9:30 pace). While I definitely got a great 4.5-mile workout, I didn’t do it properly. Whoops! To be fair, I’ll get better with practice. I did boost some confidence, though, as my fastest pace was 8:00. 🙂

FRIDAY, April 14, 2017

Annnnnnd this morning I am feeling entirely sleepy. Apparently my iPhone camera has joined in on the blurry-eyed fun. I am so ready for this weekend! The man and I have a delicious dinner date on the agenda for tonight. 🙂

  • blue top, Kohl’s
  • dark wash skinny jeans, Gap
  • sandals, Target
  • bracelets and ring, Francesca’s and Forever 21

Which outfit was your favorite? And what are you looking forward to this weekend?
