This Thursday, it had been four days without running and I was itching to get some pavement under my feet, so I hopped onto the trail behind the Parker Arts, Culture & Event Center.
I tied my key fab to my laces, held my phone (with the RunKeeper app on) in my hand since I forgot my Hipster, and jogged along the Sulphur Gulch Trail.
The trail is idyllic and serene. It starts at the PACE Center on Main Street and runs east along the Sulphur Gulch (which does not smell like sulphur) and farmland, behind cute houses and playgrounds.
SOMEWHERE OVER THE…
It had just rained, so it was hot and humid, but a gorgeous rainbow appeared behind a cloud to motivate me. How beautiful!
I didn’t realize it, but my aim was to log 4 easy miles and the trail is exactly 4 miles long! However, I ran two miles out and two miles back.
I’ve been experiencing a lot of shortness of breath lately, despite the shape I’m in and the ease with which the rest of my body handles even the most difficult runs. I’m hoping it’s just fatigue from my crazy schedule, which is most likely the case. It almost feels like I’m on the brink of a panic attack. Has anyone ever experienced this before?
As you can see, mile 2 bore the brunt of the sluggishness. I also stopped a few times to snap those photos and didn’t pause my RunKeeper. All in all, I was glad to move around after sitting at a desk all day!
