BASEBALL BLISS
When a colleague hands you and your two favorite work-wives three free tickets to a Colorado Rockies game, you scramble to get the day’s work done by noon so you can dip out and enjoy baseball, sunshine, and hotdogs!
It was the absolute most perfect day, spending a warm and breezy Thursday afternoon at the baseball field. Here’s a photo recap along with why the day was so wonderful.
I found a casual “baseball chic” outfit for the Colorado Rockies game, even though I quickly realized that I am in need of shorts for summer! I have zero pairs of shorts. How is that possible? I am a Floridian!
It was an absolutely beautiful day to stroll into Denver’s Coors Field.
First thing on the agenda: must. find. beer and hotdogs. stat.
Ding! I can’t say no to a hotdog at a baseball game. It’s a law of nature.
I have not eaten a hotdog in God knows how long, and I was happy to find out the stadium’s dogs were delicious! The buns were gooey and chewy and fresh-tasting. Hit the spot!
We had such a great time, got just the right amount of sun and yummy food, and the Rockies killed the San Francisco Giants. We even had a 9-run inning!
ASIAN-LATIN FUSION CUISINE
The evening was concluded at Zengo Denver, where we got there just in time to indulge in their Happy Hour menu for delicious Asian-Latin fusion fare. My phone had run out of battery at that point, so I couldn’t document the courses myself, but I found images of my favorite dishes from around the Interwebs:

XO Edamame
A sweet-and-spicy addition to the typical appetizer. This stuff was for real.

So fresh, spicy-hot, and delicious, we ordered another one! It boasts spicy tuna, avocado, chipotle aioli, and cucumber. Nom!

Korean Fried Chicken Wings, Photo cred: Yelp

I will be thinking about these wings until the next time I go to Zengo! They were huge, divinely fried in the most delicious batter, and smothered in just the right amount of achiote barbecue sauce. (It looks like they’re only on the Happy Hour small plates menu, just FYI.)

Modern Mexican Bar, Photo cred: Yelp

What dreams are made of: Spiced chocolate Bavarian mousse, peanut nougat, chocolate feuilletine (tastes like crispy shards of sugar cone) crust, and topped with salted caramel ice cream.
I also had the Vegetarian Fried Rice with a side of the chipotle aioli and the Dulce de Leche Cheesecake, which were delicious but not as noteworthy. Needless to say, we were filled to the brim. Hurt so good.
Best work-wife outing to date!
